The new Zebra ZT231 replaces the ZT230 label printer in the mid-range industrial label printer category. With a durable metal frame, the ZT231 is ideal for light industrial environments and applications. It prints at a maximum speed of 12 ips (inch per second) at 203 dpi resolution. For even crispier text and barcodes, choose the 300 dpi version.
All models include a large 4.3 inch full-colour touch screen, ethernet, Bluetooth low-energy, and USB host post. At the higher end, you can choose a version with peeler and rewinder, wifi, or label cutter. All of the Zebra ZT231 label printer models fit a large 450m thermal transfer ribbon.

Yes, ZT231 printers have been tested to ensure backwards compatibility with previous label formats and settings.
Do the new printers support the same accessory kits for media handling (peeler/cutter/label take-up) and network connectivity (LAN, WLAN, BT) as the previous models?
While ZT231 printers offer the same accessory options of the previous models, accessory kits are not interchangeable across old and new models. ZT231 is launching with a full array of media handling, print resolution, and communication accessories.
Is a parallel port option available on these new ZT231 models?
Parallel port support has been removed from the ZT231 series of printers. If parallel connectivity is required, the ZT411 printers may be a good.

At the time of writing, the ZT231 pricing starts at round 700 Euros for the 203 dpi direct thermal version. The ZT231 thermal transfer version with 300 dpi, label cutter of wifi can be found for roughly 1200 to 1300 Euros.
